About the opportunity
AUSTRAC is seeking a dynamic EL2 Director, Procurement and Travel to lead teams within our Finance, Property and Procurement Branch.
You'll play a critical role in shaping and innovating procurement and travel services that support AUSTRAC and its people.
As Director, Procurement and Travel, you will provide strategic direction and leadership to ensure procurement and travel functions operate efficiently, align with legislative frameworks, and deliver value for money.
You'll lead motivated teams in driving process and systems improvements while fostering a positive and collaborative culture.
Your expertise will strengthen AUSTRAC's compliance with Commonwealth policies and build effective governance processes for the agency.

What are we looking for
While we are looking for these attributes, we consider transferable skills and encourage applicants who embody AUSTRAC's culture and values to apply.
Possess relevant qualifications such as a Certificate IV or Diploma in Government Procurement and Contracting.
Highly developed understanding, and ability to implement, legislation, policies, guidelines and the Commonwealth Procurement Framework and policies.
Strong interpersonal and liaison skills and the proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
Key Duties
The Director, Procurement and Travel will undertake a range of duties including but not limited to:
Leading teams in the AUSTRAC procurement and travel service functions.
Leading risk management strategies in procurement projects to identify and mitigate risks.
Developing and maintaining of policy, guidance and procedures.
Advising on procurement and contract matters.
Developing effective relationships with procurement and travel policy agencies including the Digital Transformation Agency and the Department of Finance.
Proactively identifying, proposing, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
