About the Opportunity Reporting to the Manager Assurance, the Human Factors Specialist will be responsible for supporting and driving the integration of Human Factor Risk considerations through ARTC Safety Management System (SMS) and core risk management processes.
Responsibilities include: Supporting the Manager Assurance and Manager Safety Systems with the review and development of a sustainable and integrated Human Factors Risk Framework.
Provide specialist subject matter advice and support in relation to Human Factors, including fatigue risk management.
Support the integration of human factors risk considerations into existing and new engineering governance processes and systems.
Provide human factors specialist support to operational risk assessment where required, ensuring effective identification and consideration of human factor risks.
Provide human factor risk support as part of management of change risk management processes, relating to major configuration change, project lifecycle processes or significant SMS change.
Support development of Safety & Systems assurance processes relating to human factor impacts on effectiveness of controls relating to significant Rail Safety risks.
Provide support and guidance, as required in support of Safety & Environment team, in support of internal ARTC safety event investigations.
Support Safety culture improvement programs where required, by providing input into core risk management processes.
Support development training packages as identified to support Human Factors Risk framework integration and maturity.
What do we want from you?
Tertiary or Post-graduate qualifications in Human Factors, Psychology, Behavioural science, Human Factors Engineering or related field.
Minimum 5+ years working in a heavy, construction or transportation industry environment.
Working knowledge of WHS Legislation.
Understanding of project management lifecycle processes.
Practical experience in contemporary risk management working in high-risk complex organisation.
Experience in integrating Human Factors risk management into core management systems.
