What's on offer?
We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst to join us in one of our CBD office locations in Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney, or Adelaide. Full-time and part-time hours are available. You can work part of the week out of one of the advertised office locations and may also work some of the time from home.
About the role?
You will be pivotal in gathering and analysing requirements, mapping processes, developing and maintaining governance frameworks, guidelines, and technical specifications, and ensuring alignment with architectural standards. The role includes stakeholder engagement, supporting technical assessments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions and processes meet strategic objectives. We're looking for someone who is ready to make their mark working in a smaller agency, where you'll readily see the impact of your work and have autonomy to deliver quality outcomes for the Australian public. The duties of this role include, however, are not limited to:
Gather, analyse, and document business requirements to inform strategic and enterprise architecture decisions. Develop and maintain governance frameworks, strategies, standard operating procedures and guidelines to support operational and compliance needs. Evaluate, map and document technical specifications, workflows, and processes in alignment with technology and architectural standards. Conduct gap analysis between current and future state capabilities and identify opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with architects and cross-functional teams to evaluate and recommend technology solutions that meet business objectives. Create reports, dashboards, and visualisations to communicate architecture-related insights. Selection Criteria Demonstrated ability to develop and document governance frameworks, strategies, standard operating procedures, and guidelines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and experience with quality assurance of documentation. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information and concepts to a broad range of stakeholders. Ability to deconstruct complex requirements and processes into clear information, actionable tasks, and meaningful insights. Proficiency and in-depth knowledge in tools and technologies important to the role, in particular Azure DevOps, Visio, Power BI, and Power Automate. To be eligible for employment with the FWO you must be an Australian citizen. The successful candidate must hold a current Australian Government Security Clearance (AGSVA) or be willing to undergo and obtain a Baseline security clearance (we will assist you with this process).
