Position Overview The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a Parliamentary Service Level 6 Senior Procurement and Contract Officer within the Planning and Quality Branch. We are seeking Procurement professionals to provide high-level advice on procurement and contract management related matters across DPS.
The suitable candidates will be required to conduct complex procurements using best practices and judgment to make decisions on procurement and related activities that are fundamental to the day-to-day operations of DPS, prepare and review a range of written material including reports, contracts, procurement documentation, Senate Estimates briefs, questions on notice, and executive briefings, and deliver procurement and contract management training to build capability and capacity, whilst providing leadership and mentoring to staff within the procurement team.
Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise, with a minimum of three (3) years' experience, in conducting procurement and contract management. They will possess high-level administration skills and the ability to oversee the development of contemporary procurement and contract management processes, as well as proven ability to communicate with influence and nurture productive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

Key Duties Certificate IV in Procurement and Contracting (or higher) or ability to attain is essential. Experience in any of the following is highly desirable: administration, governance, or finance. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (Confidential/Highly Protected/Secret) security clearance.
