Director - Remote ICT Kingston TAS
The ICT Business and Governance Branch is responsible for key enabling functions that underpin our ICT strategic planning, investment, purchases, governance, communications, and operational workforce, working broadly across the division and the department. Our ICT Business Solution and Security Branch is responsible for the delivery of the ICT business solutions lifecycle from design to sustainment, as well as the department's cyber security – adopting a security by design approach to solutions - and artificial intelligence capability. The ICT Operational Services and Infrastructure Branch, where this position sits, is responsible for the delivery and support of ICT services across the department, portfolio agencies, and to Ministers. Responsibilities include network security and support, the delivery, deployment, and support of remote and field ICT, and critical incident response.
The Remote ICT team manages the ICT services, capability, and program of work for the Australian Antarctic Program and National Parks within the department.
The key duties of the position include: Overseeing the delivery of the Remote ICT service and program, leading the key teams responsible for ensuring remote ICT operations. Providing reliable ICT services to enable Antarctic Expeditioners and Park Rangers operations, in the field and on vessels. Providing expert advice on Antarctic and Parks communications links and assisting those in remote locations with their communication problems. Providing dedicated technical support and maintaining essential field ICT infrastructure in remote locations. Delivering projects and activities that enhance remote ICT capability. Continuously improving ICT services through research, development, and a culture of creativity and innovation. Minimum Requirements: Citizenship - To be eligible for employment with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water you must be an Australian citizen. Security Clearance - This position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level. Pre-employment Check - Your suitability for employment will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process. This process includes a requirement to undergo and satisfy a National Police Check, referee checks, character clearance, and where required, a pre-employment medical assessment, specified mandatory qualification(s) validation, and a probation period of 6 months.
