Digital Accessibility Specialist Canberra ACTReporting to the Director of the Share Point and Voice Solutions Team, the Digital Accessibility Specialist is responsible for providing leadership, technical expertise, accessibility testing and conformance reports relating to Digital Accessibility. The Digital Accessibility Specialist will work in alignment with the Digital Transformational Agency's Digital Service Standard, and implement the measures introduced in the department's Digital Inclusion Strategy and Digital Accessibility Policy to uplift digital accessibility and inclusion capabilities across our people, places and technology. The key duties of the position include: Leading a team to deliver results in relation to Digital Accessibility.Mentoring and supporting staff to achieve their potential.Conduct accessibility conformance reports using the W3 C Website Accessibility Conformance Evaluation Methodology (WCAG-EM) 1.0 on the department's websites and applications.Assist the department with digital accessibility enquiries.Provide accessibility testing services to the department and our clients.Successfully plan, monitor and deliver team tasks and projects.Timely and accurate production of accessibility reports and related documents.Provide advice on accessible ICT procurement methods and evaluate pilot applications.Draft and maintain accessibility policy and procedural documentation including training material for departmental use.Engage with IT project teams to ensure accessibility conformance checks are in place for all new software.Leading stakeholder engagements with community groups and government partners relating to Digital Accessibility.Strong understanding and capabilities in using Assistive Technologies.Support departmental assistive technology users.Please note, under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the APS unless the Agency delegate has agreed, in writing.
