Assistant Director Threatened Species and Ecological Communities Governance Canberra ACT
The Threatened Species and Communities Governance Section is responsible for:
guiding the strategic direction of the branch and uplifting governance and planning frameworks designing solutions to branch wide strategic and governance issues and facilitating collaboration within the branch and with key stakeholders supporting the Commonwealth Threatened Species Scientific Committee. The key duties of the position include: supporting / leading the development and implementation of strategic and business planning, programs, projects and governance processes devising assurance and evaluation to support these functions in line with the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act and Rule and relevant Commonwealth frameworks developing solutions for streamlining effective planning, reporting and communication, including utilising data analytics and visualisation working with other sections to capture strategic planning and reporting information in line with contemporary best practices analysing information to assist the branch governance board in setting strategic priorities across policies, programs and regulation against the department's legislative and government priorities assisting the Director supporting the branch governance board managing staff, where required. Citizenship - to be eligible for employment with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water you must be an Australian citizen. Security Clearance - this position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level. Pre-employment Check - your suitability for employment will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process. This process includes a requirement to undergo and satisfy a National Police Check, referee checks, character clearance and where required a pre-employment medical assessment, specified mandatory qualification(s) validation and a probation period of 6 months.
