Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of new arrivals? The Australian Migrant Resource Centre (AMRC) is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Settlement Officer to join our team in Mount Gambier.
As a Settlement Officer, you will play a pivotal role in assisting newly arrived migrants and refugees to settle into the community. Your primary focus will be on providing support with settlement services, including accommodation, and ensuring individuals and families have access to the resources and support they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities Assist new arrivals with settlement and accommodation needs, ensuring they feel supported and welcome. Develop and maintain strong relationships with diverse individuals, community organizations, and service providers. Provide case management support, including creating and implementing settlement plans tailored to individual needs. Prepare detailed and accurate reports documenting client progress and program outcomes. Deliver culturally appropriate support and guidance to clients, respecting and valuing cultural diversity. Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure high-quality service delivery. About You: You are a compassionate and organized professional who thrives in a multicultural environment. Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills allow you to connect with people from all walks of life.

Experience in working with diverse communities, particularly migrants and refugees. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce detailed and accurate reports. Degree or equivalent in Social Work/Psychology/Counselling, Community Services or a related field. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. A commitment to cultural diversity and inclusion. A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle. Desirable Criteria Previous experience in settlement, community development, or case management. Knowledge of local services and networks in the Mount Gambier area. Language proficiency in Kudish Kaurmanji, Arabic, Dinka, Karen, Chin-Falam. Why Join Us?
