Job Summary Influential role protecting Australia's oceans and marine life Location – A preference to be based in Brisbane (head office) but other locations where AMCS has offices (Sydney, Melbourne, Perth) will be considered About AMCS The Australian Marine Conservation Society (AMCS) is the voice for Australia's oceans and Australia's leading ocean conservation organisation. We are an independent charity, staffed by a committed group of scientists, educators, and passionate advocates who have defended Australia's oceans since 1965. We deal with the big issues concerning the sea, working with a community of ocean lovers across the nation to tackle the major threats to our oceans and advocate for the innovative solutions needed to ensure we have healthy and thriving oceans for the future.
As the CEO, you will lead AMCS' excellent multi-disciplinary team and our community of supporters to help protect Australia's precious oceans and marine life. You will oversee the development and delivery of the Strategic Plan, ensuring that AMCS delivers on our mission and continues to grow our impact.
About the Successful Candidate AMCS seeks an engaging and experienced leader with a proven ability to engage with government, industry, and stakeholders to build alliances, influence decision-makers, and achieve change. A results-orientated leader is sought, with extensive experience and a track record of cultivating strong networks and building enduring partnerships.
Experience in a senior role in the for-purpose sector, conservation and environment sector, or in the advocacy space is preferable, as would be a proven capability to lead a team of professionals to develop and deliver organisational and strategic plans.
