About the role The Strategic Web Project Manager will work very closely with the web development team and will report directly to the Unit Head. This position will initially be offered as a non-ongoing 12–18 month role with the possibility of extension.
This position will play a key role in shaping AIHW's new web strategy. You will work closely with the Unit Head (Director), the 4 sub-team leads (EL1s), senior executive co-leads (SES) and the ICT team.
Initially, the role will lead a Discovery Phase to gather key insights and ideas. This will involve a series of meetings and research to understand the needs and expectations of both internal and external audiences. You will also review global examples of data delivery websites to identify innovative approaches and best practice.
Additionally, you will be involved in other AIHW initiatives, including defining the types of content, how content will be published and the systems needed to support them.
By the end of this phase, you will have developed a detailed roadmap for the project that everyone involved can refer to throughout the website's design, development, and launch.
We are looking for an experienced person to lead the development of our web strategy. You will be guided by the following directional statements:
develop a new, 'fit-for-purpose' web presence that offers a modern platform tailored to our stakeholders' needs, enabling seamless exploration/discoverability of data.develop a web-based tool that enables users to explore multiple datasets at various geographic or demographic levels.develop a public-facing website to share information, updates, key findings, and focused reports, while adhering to government web guidelines and accessibility standards.explore the use of artificial intelligence, particularly generative AI, as a key component of our web strategy – for example, to enhance site-wide search capabilities, making it easier for users to find and access relevant data and information.explore options for improving the content creation and web publishing process such as the implementation of an end-to-end content operations platform that replaces current disparate systems and manual workflows and can assist in content production using generative AI.You will bring significant project experience and a deep understanding of the importance of thorough investigation, gathering both technical and non-technical information. As a highly skilled communicator, you will think critically and strategically, be able to understand diverse perspectives and can synthesise this information to shape a clear and cohesive vision for the project.
