About the role: Employed as a Marine Technician, you will ensure safe and efficient operations of the Marine & Navigational systems on board the FPSO. Excellent roster, comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth and personal development await the successful candidate.
The successful candidate will undertake the following duties onboard: Follow Company's HSE and operational procedures and strictly adhere to the conditions of the permit system. Assist in offtake tanker mooring/transfer operations, acting as duty cargo officer. Act as duty cargo officer while loading, following the Senior Marine Technician's cargo orders. This requires the monitoring and operation of cargo, ballast and IG systems to ensure that the allowable limits for stability, bending moments, shear forces, trim, list and tank IG pressures are not exceeded. Responsible for the maintenance of all Life Saving Appliances and Fire Fighting Apparatus. This role involves co-ordinating and supervising the Services Technicians to assist in the maintenance of the LSA and FFA to meet Australian and SOLAS standards, recording all maintenance and deficiencies. Assist with helicopter operations as required. Act as the FPSO's navigation officer and be responsible for the maintenance of the FPSO's bridge equipment, navigational chart folio, navigation equipment and production of passage plans. Be in charge of a navigational watch when disconnected from the riser. Understudy and act up as the Senior Marine Technician on occasion. Key application criteria includes: Minimum Chief Mate – Unlimited, STCW Certificate of Competency with a valid Oil Tanker Endorsement GMDSS Minimum 3 years experience in a similar position on a Tanker or FPSO Experience using Permit to Work systems Operation of GMDSS Equipment and VSAT communications systems will be an advantage Good computer skills and experience using Microsoft applications.
