The office of Rick Wilson MP is seeking applications for a full-time ongoing Media Advisor, based in Albany, Western Australia.

About the position
In this role, successful applicants will be required to respond to media enquiries, liaise with media organisations and government departments, prepare and coordinate media releases and digital communication resources, and monitor daily media.
There will also be requirements for general correspondence and constituent enquiries.

Applications should possess the following skills and experience:
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent knowledge of social media and Meta applications.
Well-developed office IT skills.
Good organisational ability.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Sound research skills.
An understanding of Australia's system of government and parliamentary processes.
Employment conditions:
The position is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984, and conditions are outlined in the Commonwealth Member of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2024-27 which include:
A commencing salary between $74,095 and $86,506 will be negotiated depending on experience and relevant skills.
An additional optional allowance may be considered in recognition of and as compensation for reasonable additional hours of work.
An employer superannuation contribution of 15.4% will be payable.
An initial probationary period of three months will apply and may be subject to extension.

The successful applicant may be required to undergo a National Police History Check.
