The Sourcing Vendor Management Branch (SVMB) provides subject matter expertise for technology and capability related vendor procurement and ongoing contract management across the Home Affairs Portfolio.
SVMB is responsible for the sourcing, management and administration of Home Affairs' strategic, critical, important & commodity vendors, to provide a critical enabling function that supports the delivery of Home Affairs' strategic objectives. SVMB maintains strategic partnerships with vendors and Commonwealth stakeholders to deliver efficient, effective, economical and ethical procurement and contract management and associated transition arrangements to ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures and legislative requirements as set out in the PGPA Act 2013 and the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
SVMB service offering also includes the on-boarding of Home Affairs' large skilled ICT contractor workforce and strategic workforce planning and support to the Technology & Major Capability Group (TMCG) with a focus on attracting, retaining and sustaining the current and future APS workforce.
Duties and responsibilities Manage invoice (billing) validation, analysis, reconciliation and goods receipting in line with the departmental financial management framework Prepare and complete Accruals and Journals as part of the month end process Create/update contracts and purchase orders in the departmental financial system. They are based on contracts and spending proposals Work collaboratively with relevant internal and external stakeholders, cultivate a cohesive working relationship within the Section and Branch Maintain documentation and records to audit standards and the Departmental record management policies. Minimum Qualifications Solid written and verbal communication skills Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders Ability and willingness to learn Experience in finance is highly desirable. Additional information Basic finance knowledge and experience A good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn the Departmental financial systems, including SAP and TRIM A team player Analytical skills Basic understanding of contract and procurement processes is beneficial but not mandatory.
