Details: Lyneham Primary School is a positive, inclusive school with a flexible staff culture.
We are seeking a highly motivated Staffing and Administration Officer to maintain the operation of the office and manage daily staffing.

The successful applicant will manage staff/human resource processes in accordance with legislative/policy requirements, handle staff data records confidentially, and manage relief teaching and LSA staff, including bookings and leave.
The officer will assist the principal and Business Manager with overall staffing for Lyneham Primary.

In this position, the applicant will develop, implement, and maintain processes that contribute to the efficient and effective management of the school.
The successful applicant will support the Business Manager in day-to-day activities, undertake administrative duties in our front office, prepare and publish public communications, assist in managing school events, and support the whole-school administrative function.

Your major activities include but are not limited to:
Booking day-to-day relief staff to cover classes and programs using the school's and Directorate online systems.
Advising and administering leave and employee absences according to the Directorate's policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Collaborating with the school executive/leadership team to support matters of relief staffing, including staff contracts, probation, and induction processes.
Providing administrative support as part of the front office team, working effectively in a team environment with the ability to provide responsive services to stakeholder needs.
Managing staff/students' data and associated records including TQI, WWVP records, professional learning register, and induction of staff under Education Directorate requirements and legislation.
Coordinating staffing/human resource management processes in accordance with legislative/policy requirements, including monitoring LSA leave and associated LSA relief, and professional development discussions.
Coordinating and supporting meetings, presentations, and other school events as required, providing secretariat support including school newsletters and general correspondence.
Relevant skills and abilities/Selection Criteria:
Managing staffing/human resources processes and the ability to interpret and apply relevant ACT Public Services/Directorate human resource management legislation/policy.
Demonstrated high-level administrative skills, including the ability to operate a variety of computer programs, databases, and other records management systems.
Well-developed interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with a range of stakeholders.
Demonstrated commitment and experience in high-quality customer service principles and practice to manage customer relationships.
Proven organisational skills with the ability to work effectively in busy situations, in a team environment or independently, and the ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Ability to apply equity and diversity, participative management, and occupational health and safety principles and practices in the workplace.
The successful applicant will possess excellent communication skills, have experience working within a team of executive staff, and a proven ability to work within a busy environment with competing demands.
Flexible work hours are a feature of this role as many relief staffing needs occur out of hours.

Minimum Qualifications:
First Aid Certificate or a willingness to undertake appropriate training.
Certificate III or equivalent (e.g., Business Administration (Education), Education Support, Government (School Support Services)).
Previous experience within an ACT public school.
