Australian Capital Territory | Project Support Officer - Zero Emission Projects | Full-Time Permanent

Details: Transport Canberra is working to transition its fleet and infrastructure to zero emissions and requires a project officer to assist in many aspects of this exciting project. Working under the direction of the Zero Emissions Project Manager, the Project Support Officer will assist in the delivery of public transport zero-emission related projects, including critical transport planning studies and investigations, managing assets and undertaking procurement and contract management activities.
The successful applicant will have experience in providing project management support, well-developed verbal and written communication skills and be confident working both collaboratively and independently as required.
The Project Support Officer will actively engage with key stakeholders, interpret and apply relevant legislation, as well as drafting reports and other correspondence related to the project.
Under limited direction, the Project Support Officer will draw on well-developed organisational and time management skills, experience in providing project support, procurement, and to assist in delivering projects. The Project Officer will exercise initiative and judgement in providing project support and also:
Work closely with the Project Manager and at times under limited direction to assist in the delivery of important public transport projects, including transport planning studies and investigations. Assist with the administration, budgeting, reporting, governance for the project including procurement and contract documentation, organise and coordinate meetings and provide secretariat duties and records management. Ensure project compliance with relevant legislation and project requirements. Develop, manage and maintain effective business relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Draft briefings, correspondence, project documentation, discussion papers, submissions and reports. This position does not involve the direct supervision of staff members. Eligibility/Other Requirements: Professional / Technical Skills and Knowledge Project management support experience or qualifications are highly desirable. An understanding of public transport or similar field is highly desirable. Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
Please note, this position is based in a workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk. Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times.
