Program Assurance Officer
Full-time Permanent Details: An exciting permanent opportunity has arisen in the Private Buildings Cladding Scheme in Major Projects Canberra. The Private Buildings Cladding Scheme provides financial support to owners of eligible apartment buildings to identify and remediate combustible cladding.
The role of the Program Assurance Officer is an integral part of the program, and their primary duty is to provide assurance to Government that building works are being completed in accordance with Cladding Scheme requirements. This includes:
Conducting site inspections to provide active assurance that work health and safety, recycling, and site safety requirements are being met. Reviewing building and loan documentation to assess whether funding only covers eligible works under the Scheme. Reviewing invoices. The successful applicant will be a highly motivated leader within the team, promoting risk management and providing high-level guidance and advice to staff. Please note that the Program Assurance Officer role is not equivalent to a Superintendent of Works and does not give advice to owners or strata managers on their works or review the quality of works being undertaken.

Eligibility/Other Requirements: Have significant building or infrastructure knowledge and/or project management experience. Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Please note, this position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
