Assistant Director, Licensing and Accommodation Management

Our Community and Government Engagement Team is looking for a passionate and skilled individual to join us in providing top-notch customer service, business development, and lease management. We support and manage tenants, customers, and clients, offering professional building management to both government and non-government clients. As the ACT Government's expert in commercial leases and tenancy agreements, we ensure smooth operations and excellent service.
About the Role:
In this exciting position, you'll be at the heart of non-government property management. You'll draft and manage accommodation plans, execute sub-leases and licenses, and drive licensing projects with precision and attention to detail. Your strong administrative skills and property background will shine as you work in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team to achieve outstanding property outcomes.
What You'll Do:
Provide high-quality, customer-focused leasing and accommodation advice. Partner with Customer Relationship Managers to deliver top-notch accommodation strategy advice. Produce best practice licensing and leasing documents, ensuring compliance with legislation and policies. Lead and supervise the licensing team, ensuring timely and customer-focused outcomes. Offer expert advice on non-government licensing arrangements. Manage and update community leasing policies. Contribute to good governance and continuous improvement within the Branch. Ensure compliance with legislative responsibilities. Develop and maintain key strategic relationships with a broad range of stakeholders. Utilize various computer programs to deliver high-quality outcomes. Uphold the ACTPS values of respect, integrity, collaboration, and innovation. What You Need:
Experience in managing and reporting on strategic property and accommodation matters. Understanding of property management, project management, risk management, leasing/contract management, and/or ACT government procurement processes. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Ability to lead and foster a positive team culture. Eligibility/Other Requirements:
Qualifications in Property Management, Procurement, Valuation, Project Management, commercial real estate and/or asset management are desirable. Asbestos awareness card or a willingness to obtain - Asbestos Awareness Training and evidence of completion delivered by a Registered Training Organisation is required before commencement. Notes: Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. This position is based in an activity-based working (ABW) environment. Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
