ABC NEWS Verify investigates, traces and debunks misinformation online and in the media. The team also conducts open-source visual, geolocation, user-generated content, social media, and data investigations.
Verify has a 3-month contract opportunity for a social media savvy Digital Video Producer, to deliver high impact and engaging investigative digital first video content across a range of formats and platforms.
The Job
Working with the NEWS verify team to script, produce and edit high quality and fast paced digital first video content, including vertical video, using the latest news graphics, and digital video techniques. Maintaining a keen awareness and understanding of daily and political news, current events and trending stories with a strong focus on mis- and disinformation, political campaign material and advertising and emerging political trends and narratives. Actively engaging with the News video strategists on content creation and delivery to ABC and third-party platforms. Generating stories that are relevant to a broad section of Australians and reflect the cultural, geographic and socio-economic diversity of the country. About You
You have experience creating engaging news videos content and knowledge of the elements needed to produce everything from high quality video on demand for YouTube to attention grabbing explainers for Instagram.
Your skills and experience will also include:
Sound editorial judgement and the ability to plan, produce and deliver fast-paced, innovative and engaging content on television, digital and third-party platforms. A demonstrated interest, knowledge and awareness of news and federal political issues and events on digital and broadcast platforms. Strong organisational and communication skills with an open and collegial approach to teamwork. A strong understanding of user behaviours and trends on digital platforms and the influence they have on how news is presented and distributed. Experience in shooting, editing and photography.
