Business Need / Purpose of Role: Reporting to the Port Manager, the role is to perform and direct all operational functions, in relation to a vessel's port call as directed by the principal and in accordance with government legislation and regulations, port rules and ISS procedures and policies to ensure an efficient vessel port call.
Main Responsibilities: Performing vessel operations as directed by port management Controlling and directing shipping operations to ensure the safe and efficient loading and transport of cargo and passengers Ensuring compliance with regulations pertaining to safety at sea and protection of the marine environment Directing the activities of the crew for navigational support tasks Supporting with berthing and unberthing Supporting with the maintenance, cleaning, service and repairs of vessels and replacement of equipment Delivering a positive customer experience to both internal and external stakeholders Ensuring compliance with regulatory and principal requirements Processing inward and outward clearances of all vessels Performing all arrangements regarding crew movements, medical cases and crew shore passes in coordination with main office and vessel/principal requirements Establishing and maintaining relationships with principals, relevant government departments and agencies, local authorities and service providers Performing accurate and timely database management Ensuring pre-funding requests are forwarded to the principal prior to vessel arrivals Providing the port and head office management with updated information on local rules and regulations, changes in port charges, and related requirements Ensuring all cargoes, including dangerous goods and special cargo, are balanced, reconciled and reported within required timeframes Managing supplier invoice processing in conjunction with the shared service team centre Supporting with all port related matters Selection Criteria: Qualifications in Maritime Operations Experience within Shipping and Port Agency Operations Experience in Vessel Operations Experience in Logistics High attention to detail Customer Focus Benefits: Opportunity to work for a global leader Flexible working arrangements Career growth & Opportunities Supportive team culture Attractive remuneration on offer Birthday leave Staff benefits and many more This role requires some work outside of normal hours, including late nights, weekends, or public holidays.
