The role
The Advanced Manufacturing Research Facility (AMRF) team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Engineer, Metrology as part of the Process Control technical team to deliver solutions for industry through the expert oversight and operation of the inspection capability within the manufacturing development facility. The role is pivotal in guaranteeing precise and dependable measurements, facilitating informed decisions, and propelling advancements in advanced manufacturing research. The Senior Engineer, Metrology develops and implements calibration procedures, executes measurements and tests, data analysis, and resolution of escapes or discrepancies.
The role undertakes initiatives to refine measurement techniques, processes, and equipment, thus elevating quality control and assurance. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, the Senior Metrology Engineer provides technical expertise, ensuring adherence to standards and regulations. The overarching objective is to establish a framework for accurate and consistent measurements, fostering precise decision-making and ensuring the reliability of product performance.
Demonstrable experience delivering high-quality design engineering projects compliant with project objectives, quality and customer expectations, safety and environmental standards, time, budget, and resource constraints. In depth, demonstrable working knowledge and understanding of technical drawings per ASME Y14.5 or AS1100. Broad knowledge and experience of precision inspection methods by manual or digital means. Hands on experience working with the programming and operation of a Coordinate Measurement Machine. Demonstrated experience working in a manufacturing environment and a quality/inspection team.
