RoleWe seek an individual to oversee the restaurant's kitchen by effectively managing other kitchen and food preparation team members. They will decide what dishes to serve and adjust orders to meet guests' requests.
Responsibilities And DutiesPlan and direct food preparation, cooking, and presentation in a fast-paced setting from entrees to mains.Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment.Work with Cooks and other kitchen staff for efficient provisioning and purchasing of supplies.Work with the Director to plan menus that are flavourful and popular with customers.Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and other food preparation workers.Monitor and ensure food quality, quantity, taste, and presentation meet customer preferences.Perform food preparation tasks and check the quality/presentation of orders.Plan work on orders so that items served together are finished at the same time.Ensure the kitchen is kept to a high standard by providing a clean, hygienic environment.Assist the Director in conducting recruitment activities for cook and other food preparation workers.Stock and maintain adequate levels of food product at line stations.Advise on cooking methods and practices.Assist and support the Director in routine and specific tasks.Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of the kitchen.Comply with all health and safety regulations.Skills And QualificationsAQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2).Three years of work experience.Ability to handle busy service and maintain quality of food.Hardworking, positive attitude.Ability to work within a team and independently.
