In this exciting opportunity within the Finance, Strategy & Legal Team, the Senior Treasury Accountant plays a crucial role in the Treasury back office and accounting function for AusNet. You will have a strong focus on hedge accounting and play a key role in end-to-end back-office processes.
You will deliver financial instruments accounting expertise, including the valuation of financial instruments, the designation of hedge accounting relationships, and the preparation of management and statutory reporting for treasury areas, while providing analytical insights.
Additionally, you will be instrumental in the re-implementation project of the treasury management system 'Quantum,' which will be upgraded to its latest version in 2025, moving from on-premises to the cloud.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to: Drive the Back Office activities in the Quantum re-implementation Develop processes for the new system functionalities Perform end-to-end Treasury month-end close Process settlements for financial instruments Designate hedge relationships in Quantum Prepare financial statements disclosures and assist with audit queries on Treasury areas (financial instruments and hedge accounting) Provide Treasury-related inputs for regulatory reporting Respond to ad-hoc Treasury-related requests from the business. You don't need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of: Chartered Accountant, CPA or equivalent Advanced knowledge of AASB 9 hedge accounting, including hedge designations of cross currency swaps Experience with treasury management systems Knowledge of AASB 9 and AASB 7 accounting requirements Understanding of Treasury risk policies and governance principles Problem solving applied to Treasury Back Office and accounting duties Strong analytical focus and attention to details High degree of autonomy and initiative A real place to belong.
