We are seeking an Administrative Coordinator with Auslan Skills. We have a vacancy within our Cairns office.
We are a group of creative professionals dedicated to providing supports to an expanding client base all over Australia. Reporting to the Cairns Supervisor, you will be supported by a team of local support workers and an experienced team based at the Sydney headquarters.
About Signpedia
Signpedia is a Deaf owned organisation that provides services to Deaf, hard of hearing, nonverbal clients, Auslan users and their families, who have funding through the NDIS.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative tasks:
Greet and assist clients, staff, and visitors.
Answer office phone and mobile, and direct messages to the appropriate staff when needed.
Manage your delegated mailboxes consistently.
Maintain polite and professional communication via phone, e-mail, and mail.
Check and record stationary stock regularly and reorder supplies as needed.
Conduct regular office/room/land inspections to ensure appropriate care of property is maintained.
Maintenance checks of office equipment to ensure they are operational.
Run errands, as required.
Coordinating tasks:
Schedule appointments, meetings, and group activities at the office.
Help organise Signpedia social events, group activities, and training sessions as required.
Help organise travel arrangements, such as booking flights, accommodation, reservations, hire cars and equipment.
Make purchases as required and manage record-keeping of purchases.
Ordering and record-keeping of staff shirts and business cards with HR.
Ordering and record-keeping of technology for staff with Accounts.

Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills.
Ability to adapt to different methods of communication style to suit people's needs.
Demonstrated skill in researching information and developing effective and innovative support options.
High level of administrative skills, time management and efficient work practices.
Excellent computer literacy skills.
Open-minded, flexible, and creative in meeting client's individual support needs.
Demonstrated networking skills and ability to develop networks within the disability industry.
Ability to work collaboratively with others and alone with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated ability to empathise with people with a disability and their families/carers.
High standards of ethical and professional behaviour.
Availability Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9am-2pm, with the option to extend hours and days in future.
Fixed-term 12 month contract, with possibility of extending.
