Locations available: Sydney | Melbourne | Brisbane | Perth | Adelaide | Darwin | Fully Remote Position Overview PSC is seeking a full time Senior Power Systems Engineer with power industry experience to carry out dynamic study projects across the generation, transmission, and distribution sectors.
Candidates' primary expertise should be in power system analysis and studies that model the behaviour of power systems and their various components under steady state and perturbed conditions.
Reporting to the Manager, Power Systems Studies, the Senior Power Systems Engineer will: Carry out dynamic gps technical studies, including load flow, short circuit and stability analysis Develop capability in one or more other specialized technical areas, such as earthing, protection, power quality, electromagnetic transients Mentor, coach and develop junior engineers Manage deliverables, schedules and budgets for client projects and studies Manage client expectations through regular communications and responsiveness Coordinate workflows with PSC colleagues around the world Ability to travel, occasionally working evenings and weekends as needed for special assignments About you Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering is required, with higher degrees looked upon favourably Expertise in power system analysis in generation, transmission and/or distribution systems with a minimum of 5 years of experience Highly proficient, advanced users of PSS/E and/or Power Factory and/or PSCAD network simulation software.
Must have experience in at least one of the software packages, multiple is preferred.
