The Opportunity
Aurora Training Institute is seeking an ambitious and results-driven General Manager - Quality Assurance and Student Services to join our Executive Management Team. This critical leadership role goes beyond compliance and student services, encompassing strategic oversight and responsibility across the organisation. Responsibilities Provide organisational-wide oversight, contributing to the strategic planning and decision-making processes to ensure Aurora achieves its mission and objectives. Establish and maintain compliance standards aligned with the VET Quality Framework, ensuring they are implemented practically and effectively across the business. Oversee the registration of new courses to expand our scope of delivery. Ensure training delivery and assessments meet all compliance requirements. Lead reviews of training evidence and assessment quality to uphold audit standards and RTO guidelines. Build and sustain positive relationships with internal teams, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless compliance reporting and coordination across all levels. Identify compliance vulnerabilities, oversee internal and external audits, and implement effective risk management processes to mitigate organisational risks. Partner with Executive Managers to identify and develop innovative training opportunities, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and industry needs. Ensure the accuracy and compliance of commercial contracts, monitoring outcomes to maintain the highest standards of performance. Occasionally travel to our regional campuses in Toowoomba and potentially Townsville to support and engage with teams, fostering a cohesive organisational culture. About You
We're looking for a strategic thinker, an inspirational leader, and a compliance expert who is passionate about driving excellence in education.
Essential Qualifications & Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in leadership, preferably within the RTO sector. Diploma or Degree in Management or equivalent experience. Demonstrated expertise in compliance management and regulatory standards. Proven ability to develop networks and build strategic relationships across industries. Strong strategic planning and business development skills. Current driver's license and reliable vehicle. Experience in managing and designing compliant training and assessment resources, with a strong focus on innovation and flexibility. In-depth knowledge of the VET sector, ASQA Standards and government funding contracts, with the ability to navigate regulatory requirements effectively. Familiarity with student management systems like aXcelerate and other technology platforms that support training delivery and compliance. Strong grasp of contracts, legal principles, and market trends, particularly within the training and education sector. A proven track record of coaching and mentoring teams to drive transformation, performance, and a culture of continuous improvement. Experience working with diverse stakeholder groups, including government agencies, corporate clients to expand training offerings and foster meaningful partnerships. Experience in business development within an RTO or similar environment, including identifying growth opportunities, developing client relationships, and delivering against organisational goals - highly desirable but not necessary.
