With a commitment to world-class practices, AUMS has become and will continue to be the 'contractor of choice' in the African underground hard rock mining industry.We are actively seeking experienced Underground Electricians to join us in our African Operations on a 6 weeks on, 3 weeks off roster.The ideal candidate will come with the following experience & knowledge:Be conversant with Australian AS NZS 3000-2000 electrical installations – AS NZS 3008.1.1 -1998 selection of cables – AS NZS 3017 – 2001 testing & inspection guidelines.Possess current Australian electrical licence – unrestricted.Have completed a high voltage switching course.Have experience with Flygt pump repairs & maintenance – oversee rebuilds of pumps to maintain spare pumps for immediate use.High voltage installations & testing – including inline joins, 11kv plug terminations.This position is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring the effective transfer of skills and knowledge to National electrical personnel in HV preventative, scheduled, and breakdown maintenance at the mine site, with all work performed in a safe and efficient manner.Duties and Responsibilities:Carry out scheduled (1000v, 11kv and 33kv) electrical servicing in a safe manner and in accordance with procedures, regulations, and the service sheet.Carry out all repairs in accordance with AUMS procedures.Complete all service sheets and document additional repairs completed during servicing.Maintain a high level of housekeeping in the workshop and working areas at all times.Read and interpret service and spare parts manuals.Advise the electrical workshop supervisors of parts used and any additional part requirements.Train and mentor National electrical personnel to support a constructive team environment.Report all equipment faults to the Electrical Foreman for scheduling into the weekly electrical maintenance plan.Monitor shift reports – schedule any outstanding work from the previous shift.Monitor the availability of tools & test instruments given to the national employees & carry out weekly inspections of tool bags.Your proactive attitude to safety and driven work ethic will see you as a much-valued employee in line with AUMS's values and 'can do' attitude, and will be rewarded with a highly competitive, targeted remuneration package completing our vision of a work-life balance in a strong team environment.A full pre-employment medical is required, including a drug and alcohol test, and site-specific clearances.
