The role of the Audit team is to lead the design, planning and implementation of Housing Portfolio's Contract Compliance and Internal Audit Program. The purpose of this role is to undertake audit verification activities in relation to contractor performance under the maintenance contract, including reviewing contractor policies, procedures, records, and systems to appraise the effectiveness by which the contractors meet their obligations under the maintenance contract. What you'll do As an Auditor you are responsible for ensuring the integrity and efficiency of operations within Housing Portfolio and its contractors. Your primary duties include conducting risk assessments, developing annual and ad hoc internal audit plans, and leading audits and special reviews. You'll allocate tasks, coordinate, and monitor work, and consolidate results to ensure effective utilisation of audit resources. Working in accordance with Housing Portfolio requirements and auditing best practices, you'll plan and execute audit assignments, coaching staff throughout the process to ensure adherence to applicable policies and procedures and liaising with various stakeholders of key audit findings. Your expertise will be crucial in documenting, evaluating, and testing manual and automated systems and controls to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and safeguarding of assets. Additionally, you'll prepare comprehensive working papers for review, develop findings and recommendations, discuss and issue notices or corrective actions and timelines with responsible officers. Presenting audit results to management, both within Housing Portfolio and audited contractors, will be part of your role, along with monitoring the implementation status of agreed recommendations. What we're looking for Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
