Location: Department of Health is seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for a permanent full-time Program Manager - Access Flow and Demand vacancy within the Hospitals and Primary Care team, based at 81 Elizabeth Street Hobart.
The Role:
The Program Manager: Access, Flow and Demand will provide specialist input, strategic direction, and leadership to develop clinical governance/quality, best practice service systems, initiatives and enablement for performance improvement, and the integration of initiatives and projects undertaken by Hospitals and Primary Care (HPC).
The Program Manager role provides complex analyses and reporting that is accurate, reliable, and tailored to meet the requirements of the Department of Health and the Tasmanian Health Service. Through the application of specialised advice, evidence-based practice, analysis and modelling, and standardised project management methodology, the role is engaged in leading complex activities that implement high priority access and flow initiatives to address increasing pressure on Tasmania's public hospitals and across the broader health system.
Responsibilities:
Provide expert, specialist advice and recommendations to the Deputy Secretary Hospitals and Primary Care and relevant high-level stakeholders regarding access and flow performance improvement – including best practice, research, policy, and operationalising agreed projects and improvements. Establish and maintain strong and effective communication and consultative mechanisms for complex projects/programs/policy by acting as a conduit between HPC and senior management, committees, data providers and sources, governance groups, and key stakeholders regarding the delivery of access and flow improvements and statewide redesign or reform initiatives and priorities. Details of appointment:
Permanent full-time day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible (notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant).
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $135,408 to $144,527 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
