About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proven manager, leader and outstanding legal practitioner to manage a team of Crown Solicitor's Office (CSO) Solicitor's within the Employment Law Group.
The Executive Solicitor is a member of the CSO's Civil Litigation Section wider management group and is responsible for:
Managing the Employment Law Group including oversight of the conduct of complex and sensitive employment law matters, building and maintaining client relationships, allocation of legal work, and supervision of solicitors. Working collaboratively within the Civil Litigation leadership team to assist in the management of the section including supporting staff well-being, developing staff, engaging in performance management as needed, and supporting and developing digital practice. Provision of high quality, timely, client focussed, practical and independent legal advice and representation on complex and sensitive legal matters across the South Australian Government. Proven experience in running a digital practice is strongly desired. Applications are invited from highly qualified individuals with experience in Employment Law, who possess good communication, and management skills and who have demonstrated an ability to build and maintain client relationships. About the Business
The Crown Solicitor's Office, through the Attorney-General, provides legal services to the South Australian Government. The Civil Litigation Section delivers legal services to Government Agencies across a broad range of civil practice areas including civil and commercial proceedings, industrial and employment law advice and representation, coronial enquires, medical negligence, royal commissions and victims of crime and other important priority areas of Government.
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
Employment-related Screening Check required. Some out of hours work may be required. Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required. Currently admitted as a practitioner of the Supreme Court of South Australia and the High Court of Australia or eligible to be admitted.
