Our client is a global provider of Industrial Products, Parts & Services for the Rail Industry. Due to their continued success and growth, they are now looking to appoint a Vice President of Operations, (Rail) APAC based in Sydney.
THE ROLE
As the Vice President of Operations (Rail) APAC, you will be responsible for the management and control of the Operations functions including Supply Chain, WHS & HSE, Process Development & OPEX, Quality, Workshops, and Customer Service Centres standards.
Responsibilities include: Reviews and evaluates all Operations activities and prepares long-range plans to attain objectives according to strategic plans. Establishes and reviews standards and procedures for Customer Service Centres and works with Workshop Managers and Regional Managers to ensure these are implemented and effective. Works with Product Group Managers and Regional Managers to develop all Workshops and Customer Service Centres to achieve agreed customer requirements and deadlines. Responsible for ISO 9001 accreditation and ongoing maintenance of processes and procedures in conjunction with all relevant departments. Establishes and continually reviews procedures for the Supply Chain function to ensure the department is working efficiently and effectively on supporting all operational aspects in order to achieve sales forecasts set by the sales team and ensures a sustainable supply of parts to the workshops and our customers, and is responsible for the inventory targets. Ensures all operations facilities are maintained in safe working order and comply with all WHS & HSE regulations. Prepares reports for management on Operations activities. Exercises control over selection, training, evaluation, and development of Operations functions, Workshop Managers, and staff. Ensures all Operations processes and procedures are constantly reviewed and improved. Ensures all Quality standards are being met and adhered to in compliance with company Quality standards and authority matrix. You will bring: Preferred tertiary and postgraduate technical qualifications in an appropriate discipline together with at least ten years successful experience in operations management in the Railway industry (or similar). Proven achievements in operational excellence across workshop environments. Ability to communicate complex technical topics and ideas professionally and effectively.
