Assurance Controls Manager

Full timeRange excludes 15.4% employer super contribution.As the Assurance Controls Manager, you'll be a key player in our regulatory assurance activities. You'll spearhead efforts to conduct control testing activities and generate reports that evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls in managing risks and achieving desired outcomes. Your work will ensure that our legislation, policies, procedures and operational activities are seamlessly integrated and effective. You'll also play a key role in supporting the governance of these activities, ensuring our regulatory systems are robust and efficient.The duties of the role include, but are not limited to:designing verification activities to determine how well our regulatory measures protect against pests and diseasesgenerating detailed reports that highlight any gaps or weaknesses in our controlscollaborating with others to design and put into action solutions to address any identified weaknessessupporting the section with data collection and analysismaintaining a strong understanding of relevant legislation and policy frameworksbuilding strong working relationships across the department to gather information and evidence for assurance activitiespreparing reports and advice for senior executives and governance committeescontributing to the development and implementation of strategic priorities and associated governanceparticipating in and/or representing the branch at internal and external workshops.What we are looking forKnowledge and experienceExperience in a regulatory environment or in an assurance capacity would be of benefit.Eligibility and other requirementsThe successful applicant must:hold and maintain a valid Australian motor vehicle drivers licencenote that the physical requirements of the role(s) involve a combination of outdoor and office-based workwear appropriate protective personal equipment and clothing to comply with departmental Work Health & Safety policies and proceduresnote that intra and interstate travel may be required.
