Job Description Based at Epworth Freemason Maternity Hospital in East Melbourne, you will be responsible for supporting the Midwife Unit Manager and assisting in the overall clinical management and team leadership of the 34 bed Post Natal unit. In addition to the Post Natal unit, our Maternity Services department consists of 9 birth suites, 10 special care nursery cots and a 4 bed hospital in the Park Hyatt Hotel and currently accommodates approximately 3,000 births per annum. We are open to both full time and part time (minimum 3 shifts per week) applicants, and are interested in speaking with individuals who have been working as an RM and are now seeking a leadership opportunity. You will have the full support of the Maternity Services Manager, and the wider Epworth team. To be successful in this role... You will either be in an ANUM/AMUM role or looking to step into a fantastic leadership role. You are a good communicator, flexible in your approach and have a natural ability to show compassion and empathy to patients and their families. You're keen to progress your career, learn how to lead a unit and are open to mentoring and accessing internal leadership programs that support your journey. You will have: Current unrestricted midwifery registration with AHPRA. Previous experience and a passion for working in Post Natal units. Contemporary knowledge of best practice in maternity and newborn nursing care and the patient journey.
