To join the Women's is to be instrumental in forging progress towards health equity for women from ground-breaking research through to the bedside delivery of multi-disciplinary clinical care.About the departmentThe Women's Emergency Care unit is the Royal Women's Hospital's level 2 emergency department. Each year the team cares for over 28,000 women with emergency maternity and gynaecology problems, and provides emergency care for babies under two weeks of age, who were born at The Women's. We are patient-centred, with a focus on the clinical wellbeing of the women and babies who come through our doors. We are supported by teams across the hospital to look after the psychological, psychosocial, social, and socioeconomic wellbeing of our patients. We work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team under the guidance and leadership of experienced Associate Unit Managers and our Nurse Unit Manager. No two days are ever the same as you empower and care for women and their families. Our nursing/midwifery staff are an integral part of the Women's Emergency Care team and are supported by a dedicated team of health professionals, educators and clinical support.About the roleAs an Associate Unit Manager you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care provided to the patients by our multidisciplinary team in the Women's Emergency Care (WEC).A regular day will see you:Managing and leading the multidisciplinary workforce.Participating in the co-ordination of clinical services to ensure optimal service delivery in terms of efficiency, effectiveness, and quality.Monitoring and improving performance measured by meeting KPI's of WEC.About youYou will be someone with excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.You'll bring with you:Great communication, with a positive and friendly attitude.Able to foster open and supportive relationships with your team, and contribute to positive staff morale and team cohesiveness.An AHPRA registered Midwife and Nurse (dual registrant) with acute care experience in women's health.Committed to advancing your clinical skills in all areas of women's health and maternity care.Able to work a rotating roster including AM, PM and night duty shifts.Capable of achieving RANZCOG level 3.At the Women's you will enjoy a culture that is collaborative, supportive, and passionate about learning.
