With our solutions, we inspire and enable our customers to create value from sustainability-related activities.Job summary:As a part of the Australian Certificates team, the Associate Specialist, Certificates- Australia will be accountable for supporting the success of South Pole's ACCU business connecting our supply and demand, from sourcing new projects through to selling the end commodity.
They will help to grow and nurture South Pole's network and partnerships, paving the way for commercially sound investment opportunities and financially viable project delivery.
Working closely with the business development team and project technical team, they will craft best-in-class proposals and will provide a constant feedback loop to ensure South Pole's offering is adapting to the market demand.
The Associate Specialist, Certificates- Australia will primarily focus on commercial activities, whilst building excellent knowledge of the more technical aspects of project development to enhance the ability to sell projects to key investors and market participants and will support new projects through to registration.Main tasks & responsibilities: Be a key point of contact and maintain a good relationship with the team members inside the company, project owners, clients, validation and verification bodies, and other counterparts.
Provide business development support with project sourcing and certificate sales.
Assist in the preparation of proposals and deliverables and finalize them to the quality required by South Pole and the client.
Assist in drafting document content and structure to support the certification and registration of projects.
Support the preparation of proposals, work plans, work schedules, budgets and deliverables for project development/consultancy opportunities.
Draft invoices to be approved by the project supervisor and send to accounting for submission to clients.
Update proposal/project information in project management tool and ensure all relevant documents are accessible on the drive at any time, in line with the Australian Carbon Code of Conduct.
Keep general information, milestones and cash flow in South Pole's project management software up to date.
Participate in internal and external workshops, webinars and conferences about emission reduction projects, standards and related topics.Requirements:Essential - University degree in Sustainability and/or Business related discipline.
Familiarity with carbon standards like ERF, VERRA, GS, CDM, etc.
Ability to manage targets, priorities and develop own goals.
Ability to work on assignments that are diverse in nature, applying company policies, processes and procedures to resolve a variety of issues/problems.
Strong drive for results, action-oriented, with self-direction and sense of urgency.
Ability to create high quality written documents (proposals and deliverables) in English.
Excellent communication skills, especially verbal and written skills in English.
Entrepreneurial mindset, sense of responsibility and willingness to take initiative.
National or holder of a valid work visa in Australia.Desirable - Experience in evaluating carbon sequestration from vegetation projects (highly desirable).
A second language is considered a plus.
Good statistical skills.
Experience working with different stakeholders, such as landowners.
