The Role

Clifford Chance's market-leading Restructuring and Insolvency Group brings together a large, dedicated team of top-ranked lawyers who can draw upon a broad range of expertise in areas such as finance, M&A, tax, pensions, capital markets, regulation, and real estate, to deliver practical and commercially sound solutions for our clients. Our team frequently partners with clients through all stages of the transaction - strategic planning, negotiation, and implementation - and, where required, uses our cross-border expertise to give practical guidance on jurisdictional variances and issues. Our overall depth, scope, experience, and detailed understanding means we are well placed to provide proactive legal and technical advice of a consistently high quality, irrespective of the scale and complexity of the transaction.
Qualifications
Your experience

We are seeking an enthusiastic Associate (1 – 4 years PQE) to join our Global Financial Markets practice in Sydney or Perth specialising in restructuring and insolvency. To be successful, you must have experience of transactional work in restructuring & insolvency and the desire to work on market-leading and complex transactions.
To provide outstanding client service, we need to understand, anticipate, and fulfil the unique needs and expectations of each client. To help deliver this core part of our business strategy, we want to recruit lawyers who are not only technically excellent but who are also Client Focused.
The role requires seamless cross-border collaboration to provide clients with global insights and tailored local expertise.
Candidates should:

Have an exceptional academic record and outstanding legal abilities, supported by a robust industry standing and superior transactional and leadership skills.
Thrive in dynamic, high-pressure environments and have experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
A strong drive for business development, client management, and engagement in commercial initiatives is essential.
A commitment to personal growth and professional development is expected, alongside a passion for mentoring and guiding team members towards excellence.
