About the role
This position provides the opportunity to be exposed to A-list clients and an exciting portfolio of property transactions. As a valued member of the Property & Projects team, you will work with a motivated partner, contributing to the strength of a reputable Property & Projects practice and have the opportunity to develop and foster client relationships.

The team works on a variety of property transactions including:

Acting on a broad range of both direct and indirect commercial, retail, industrial and agricultural property transactions.Advising on associated legal due diligence, including in relation to the covenant of the transaction counterparty, titling, statutory enquiries, leasing, PPSR review, planning and any other factors relevant to the particular transaction.Preparing and reviewing pre-transaction documents, including:standalone or 'click through' data room confidentiality agreementsNon-binding and binding letters of offer/heads of agreement/expressions of interestExclusivity deedsMemoranda of understanding.Preparing, reviewing and negotiating transaction documents, including contracts for sale, put and call option deeds, joint venture agreements (both unincorporated and incorporated), co-ownership agreements and management rights agreements.Acting for developers in drafting and negotiating fund through arrangements with investors including mitigating rent guarantee risk and managing the pass through of risk between the tenancy documents and the developer's deliverables to the investor.Assisting with transaction project management.Advising on easement and access rights and obligations.Advising on land titling, subdivision and governance aspects of transactions.Advising on compulsory acquisitions. 15th May, 2024 About the team

Ideally you will be a driven and enthusiastic lawyer who possesses a genuine passion for property work. 

Given the current team structure we are seeking someone who has, ideally, 2-3 years post admission experience and who has a proven track record working on a range of commercial property matters. That said, we are also keen to hear from anyone more junior who can demonstrate relevant pre-admission experience. You must however be an admitted lawyer!

More specifically your experience will include:
Drafting a range of property documentsNegotiating contracts of sale (where appropriate given you level of PAE)Knowledge of the relevant legislation Exposure to capital transactions including drafting and negotiating contracts of sale (for vendor and purchaser) of commercial properties and sales and acquisitions of development sitesConducting property due diligence for property acquisitions and preparing due diligence reportsAdvising on easements and land subdivisionsYou will possess excellent drafting skills, enjoy a busy work environment and a collaborative team work culture.
