Currie & Brown are looking for a Senior/Associate Project Manager to lead from the front on a brand new Defence project based in Adelaide.
This role will be a mix of office and site-based at Keswick and will suit someone with demonstrated experience delivering construction or infrastructure projects within the Defence framework.
As Associate Project Manager, you will lead and manage various activities including project programmes, managing clients, and developing relevant protocols, all whilst delivering projects on time, to budget, and to the required quality levels expected by Currie & Brown and our clients.
Client You will be responsible for leading on high profile projects, consulting to our major Defence Project Clients, specialising in Airfield projects or civil engineering and construction projects within this sector.
Manage day-to-day client interaction and expectations for assigned projects.
Establish relationships through delivering exceptional client service, whether internal or external, and recognise the importance of maintaining these.
Ownership of certain client issues, understanding them and taking responsibility to resolve within set deadlines.
Prioritise client requirements and manage client expectations, without compromising service delivery.
People Developing the capability to supervise and lead people, by managing 'upwards', as well as influencing peers and more junior team members.
Proactively resolve project problems, focusing on solutions rather than blame.
Service Delivery Able to provide reasoned advice, with complex matters referred to manager or project leader.
Attendance of external meetings independently.
Full ownership and responsibility for successful delivery of all work set.
Understanding of best practice service delivery processes and when to use them.
Maximises personal productivity to at least a 95% fee-earning level.
Ensures compliance with QSE manual.
Finance Understanding of the parameters of any task and highlights to their manager if these parameters begin to extend.
Diligently ensures closeout of daily tasks and approvals as applicable, recognising the importance of these.
Personal Specification 5-10 years' experience in project management within the Defence industry sector and specialising in one of the following disciplines: construction engineering, building, architecture or quantity surveying.
Current security clearance is desirable.
Educated to a degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline such as: M&E/Civil Engineering, Architecture or Project Management.
Professional attitude to work, business and appearance.
Understanding of current industry trends and willingness to learn.
Excellent communication and influencing skills.
Confident, energetic and an ambitious self-starter.
Client Contributions Establish 6 new client/target contacts per year.
Attend minimum 4 x industry networking events annually.
Positively contribute to Currie & Brown securing new revenue.
People Contributions Actively participate in staff meetings.
Chair minimum 1 x staff meeting annually.
Present a discussion topic at a staff meeting.
Service Delivery Contributions Capable of acting as project leader on designated projects.
Comply with QA system.
Compliance with E-learning updates.
Finance Contributions Achieve project profitability in accordance with agreed margins, when designated project leader.
No debtors to exceed 90 days for assigned projects.
