Full-time, continuing positionLocated at the picturesque Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus, Douglas in tropical North QueenslandAcademic Level D: $155,180 - $170,518 plus 17% employer superannuation contributions, leave loading and other generous employee benefitsRelocation assistance may be negotiated for the successful candidate.ABOUT THE ROLE As an Associate Professor in Veterinary Anatomic Pathology, your expertise will enhance veterinary education through high-quality teaching, course design, and mentorship.
You'll innovate in delivering an engaging curriculum that enriches the learning experience for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
In this role, you'll also drive research excellence by leading impactful projects, publishing high-quality findings, and securing funding through grants and consultancy.
Beyond teaching and research, you'll foster professional relationships by collaborating with industry, community, and professional bodies to enhance the University's impact and reputation.
As a strategic leader within the discipline, you'll guide academic staff, mentor graduate students, and play an instrumental role in the pre-clinical science initiatives, contributing to the ongoing development of our veterinary programs.
In addition, you'll provide expert diagnostic services and work closely with the Veterinary Teaching Hospital to ensure an integrated and effective educational experience for our students.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE The successful candidate will be a recognised expert in anatomic pathology, holding a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) registrable in Queensland, with formal postgraduate training (minimum of 2 years in veterinary pathology) and a Masters or Ph.D degree in pathology or a closely related field.
You will have a proven track record of teaching excellence, impactful research, and a history of high-quality publications.
In addition, your experience in academia or industry will demonstrate strong leadership, management, and collaborative skills essential to this role.
