About the opportunity
The University of Sydney welcomes applications for an Associate Professor/Professor in Software Engineering (Education Focused) in the Faculty of Engineering. As one of the world's leading engineering and technology colleges, the Faculty is dedicated to excellence in both teaching and research.
The successful candidate will dedicate the majority of their contribution to teaching and teaching-related activities (up to 70%), with a minimum of 20% research and 10% governance, service, and engagement. You will mentor junior academics, exhibit educational leadership, guide the School, Faculty and University in strategic planning, and lead industry collaboration and outreach activities.
You will oversee the organization and delivery of courses within the software engineering program and lead curriculum review and improvement. A commitment to research and scholarship in educational methodologies, technology, and pedagogical approaches within software engineering will be fundamental.
About you
We are looking for an outstanding educator in the field of software engineering. Applicants should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
A completed PhD in Software Engineering or a related area
Deep knowledge of software engineering including software development, machine learning, computer systems, and networks
Commitment to research and scholarship in educational methodologies and pedagogical approaches
Proven international standing for academic excellence
Strong dedication to teaching excellence
Established network of relationships with key academic and industry institutions
Demonstrated community service and contribution to governance within the university
Term and remuneration
The successful candidate will be offered a continuing position on a full-time basis with a competitive remuneration package.
