ABOUT THE ROLE Provides academic leadership, curriculum development, delivery and assessment in the discipline of General Practice in the Fremantle MD program to ensure graduates meet the outcome requirements of the AMC. Responsibilities Provide academic leadership in the discipline of General Practice in the School.Coordinate the development and revision, delivery, and assessment of the General Practice curriculum in the Fremantle MD program.To work with Heads of MD Program, the Medical Education Unit, the Domain Heads, and the other Discipline Leaders to develop integrated curriculum and assessments for the MD program.Deliver high quality teaching, that is informed by research, to ensure a high level of student satisfaction and appropriate skill development for clinical practice.Have oversite of the clinical placements and teachers in General Practice. This includes the recruitment of new practices and teachers.Work with the Rural clinical school to maintain and develop new clinical placements for students to undertake their rural general practice placements. Provide pastoral care to medical students in the General Practice rotations.To work closely with the Discipline Head of General Practice in Sydney in the development of the General Practice curriculum across the National School.ABOUT YOU A medical qualification registrable with AHPRA. A fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners or equivalent. Clinically active as a general practitioner with an extensive established network within the general practice community in Western Australia.Evidence of significant leadership within the field of general practice.Experience working as a clinical teacher and/or supervisor with either or both medical students and/ or junior doctors and general practice trainees.Experience in medical education, teaching and assessment preferably in both medical school and postgraduate training settings.High level interpersonal skills including demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with a diverse range of people.Excellent proven organisational and management skills as well as problem solving skills and attention to detail.Experience in engaging with high level stakeholders in the general practice networks and government.CONTACT US For enquiries about the role, or to request a copy of the Position Description, please contact Janette Tam Talent Acquisition Partner at ****** HOW TO APPLY Please apply online with a resume and cover letter outlining your suitability for the role.
