ABOUT THE OFFICE The National School of Law and Business is one of two national schools in the Faculty of Arts, Sciences, Law and Business. The National School is based on two distinct campuses in Fremantle and Sydney. The School of Law and Business ABOUT THE ROLE The School of Law & Business seeks to appoint an academic on our Sydney or Fremantle campus to lead our Postgraduate Coursework Programs in Business. These currently include postgraduate degrees in Business, Business Administration, Catholic Leadership, Educational Leadership and Management, and Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking. Responsibilities include the coordination and delivery of the business courses of each of these postgraduate programs and teaching into one or more of the above-mentioned programs. The roles will also include involvement in special projects. The role includes leadership in relation to the design, implementation and ongoing review of the curriculum and accreditation activities of these postgraduate programs. Experience in the development and management of postgraduate programs is essential. Prior experience in a relevant profession, discipline or business will be looked upon favourably.Applicants must also express a priority for teaching and the pastoral care of students. Key Responsibilities Undertake postgraduate program coordination, leading curriculum design and overseeing the programs
Lead curriculum mapping of postgraduate programs in consultation with academic staff within the Faculty
Review and develop course and program material informed with reference to contemporary developments in business
Collaborate with existing University partners to ensure program delivery
Develop significant external partnerships in the relevant disciplines to create and maintain pathways for student enrolment
Manage accreditation and other regulatory processes that includes the management of international students.
Support the marketing, prospective students, and international offices in the recruitment of students
Produce and maintain a strategy for the development of postgraduate programs
Manage student experience in postgraduate programs and coordinate staff to ensure successful delivery
Undertake industry benchmarking around programs in key discipline areas, to ensure best practice
About You Qualifications & Experience PhD or DBA qualified or equivalent accreditation and standing with recognised significant experience in a relevant discipline area.
Knowledge, skills & abilities Demonstrated scholarly and professional achievement in the relevant discipline area.
Proven ability to assess priority of tasks, manage workload and meet deadlines in a busy education environment.
Prior teaching experience at the tertiary level with sound understanding of pedagogical and/or adult learning principles, especially in postgraduate programs.
Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including supporting international students.
Ability to deliver quality learning and teaching practices in multiple modes including online delivery and incorporate technology (e.g. Blackboard, zoom, email, internet) into teaching and learning.
Demonstrated experience embedding Indigenous knowledge and business ethics
Demonstrated ability in developing resources/curriculum documents as well as criteria and standards-based assessment tasks.
Ability to incorporate technology (e.g. Blackboard, zoom, email, internet) into teaching and learning.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to foster high levels of collegiality and the ability to empathise with students.
Demonstrate a willingness to be involved in academic and professional activities and in school policy development and administrative matters.
