As an Associate Professor (Academic Lead in Indigenous Health) you will provide leadership in curriculum development, teaching, assessment, and research of Indigenous Health for the UOW MD program. This involves researching, designing, documenting, and implementing educational materials related to Indigenous Health, ensuring alignment with the Australian Medical Council (AMC) Standards for Accreditation of primary medical programs.

You will collaborate closely with the co-Academic Program Directors and the Academic Lead for Assessment to effectively address the needs of the medical program. Additionally, this position will work alongside the GSM Academic Lead, Admissions and the Pre-Medicine Academic Coordinator in the School of Medical, Indigenous and Health Sciences to support the recruitment, selection and retention of Indigenous students within the MD program.

To be successful you will be suitably qualified with a deep understanding of Aboriginal knowledges and perspectives and strong relationships with the Aboriginal community. You will have the necessary experience and attributes for teaching Indigenous health at a tertiary level as well as a demonstrated track record in in conducting research in an area of Indigenous Health. Additionally, excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills are essential along with a commitment to the personal, professional and academic development of Indigenous students and academics.
