The Australian PE team has country coverage responsibility across all sectors and works closely with Partners Group PE teams in the US and Europe who are organized by industry vertical: Services, Health & Life, Goods & Products and Technology. The Associate will be part of a seamless local and international Partners Group team working to review and source, select, acquire, manage and ultimately exit PE investments in Australia encompassing all verticals.Reporting to the Managing Director, Head of Private Equity Australia, the Associate's specific role is to support the investment team in all aspects of the investment life cycle, including industry research, due diligence, transaction execution and portfolio company management. The Associate will join a small, focused and growing Australia PE team, performing an important role in leading PE investment activity in Australia for Partners Group.What we expectExcellent financial analysis skills, including high proficiency in financial modelling.Superb quality written work product: coherent, persuasive with high attention to detail.Application of critical thinking in prioritizing work and analyzing investment opportunities, remaining goal focused in a fast-paced and dynamic transaction environment.Strong team skills: ability to operate within team structures with clearly defined roles and responsibilities, co-operate effectively with junior and senior colleagues (locally and internationally), flexing both upwards and downwards when required to ensure every aspect of the investment process is completed successfully.Ability to rapidly prepare and assimilate industry research from internal and external sources.Construct accurate and detailed business unit centric LBO financial models, including: 3 statement financial analysis, capital structure analysis, entry and exit analysis, business case sensitivity analysis and other bespoke financial modelling as required.Draft high quality, detailed investment committee reports while supervising internal and external resources in the process.Interact with third party advisory and due diligence providers (investment banks, management consultants, accounting and tax professionals, lawyers, technical consultants etc).Act proactively in all matters arising in the ordinary course of business, acting quickly to identify, address and correct issues.Assist and support the Investment Leader in negotiating debt facilities, purchase agreements, employment and other commercial agreements for portfolio companies.Assist in identifying and evaluating strategic opportunities for portfolio companies such as acquisitions, divestitures, or entering new markets.Role will suit high caliber candidate with investment banking or PE background in Senior Analyst / Associate capacity, having completed formal Analyst / Associate training program(s).What we offerPartners Group is committed to attracting, developing and retaining the very best talent, by offering a workplace where results are truly recognized and rewarded.
