Mount Gambier and Districts Health Service is seeking a dedicated Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) for our Surgical Ward.
In this pivotal role, you'll lead a team of nursing professionals, providing high-quality care and contributing to the smooth operation of our surgical services.
You'll have the chance to drive clinical improvements and help shape the future of nursing practice within the ward.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager, guiding and supporting staff while ensuring consistent, safe, and effective care delivery.
You'll play a vital part in managing the day-to-day operations, including staff performance, rostering, recruitment, and supplies monitoring.
Key Responsibilities: Support the Nurse Unit Manager in leading nursing teams in the surgical ward.
Promote continuity of care and collaborate with other nursing leaders to implement practice changes.
Assist in managing staffing, recruitment, and performance management processes.
Oversee financial and supplies planning and monitoring.
Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
Foster a collaborative, supportive, and professional team environment.
What We're Looking For: Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse or Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate At least 3 years post-registration experience or classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
Proven leadership skills with experience in supervising and mentoring nursing staff.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
Knowledge of quality improvement systems and contemporary healthcare practices.
