Overview of the Role In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for delivering person-centred clinical care, ensuring continuity and consistency in collaboration with our Nursing/Midwifery Unit Manager. You'll accept accountability for your practice and play a key part in guiding and developing less experienced staff. With a focus on leadership, you'll assist in implementing practice changes and managing essential operational tasks within your unit, including performance management, staffing, and financial planning. Your contributions will support both patient outcomes and the ongoing development of our nursing and midwifery team. Key Responsibilities include:
Direct/Indirect Patient Care: Provide proficient clinical nursing/midwifery care and manage individual patient/client care plans to achieve optimal outcomes.Support Health Service Systems: Assist the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager in management, clinical, and education activities, while coordinating services from various disciplines.Education: Engage in clinical teaching and facilitate the learning of students and less experienced staff, fostering a culture of professional development.Research: Participate in clinical audits, trials, and evaluative research, using evidence-based practices to enhance patient care.Professional Leadership: Promote a collaborative approach to care and provide leadership within your team, ensuring efficient patient flow.Essential Criteria Qualifications: Current registration as a Nurse and/or Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, with a valid practicing certificate.Experience: Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience or current classification as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
