About the Role Cairns Private Hospital has a key leadership opportunity for an experienced Perioperative nurse to join our team on a permanent full-time basis.
We are looking for a Nurse who thrives by responding to challenges, working within a multidisciplinary team, and will be committed to upholding and promoting the Ramsay Way core values.
This role will see you running the day-to-day operations of the Anaesthetic Department and Recovery Room, including but not limited to:
Acting as a professional resource and demonstrating broad knowledge and clinical expertise in all aspects of critical care nursing practice.Demonstrating a high level of critical thinking and problem-solving skills within the clinical setting.Overseeing and encouraging ongoing professional development and upskilling of existing clinical team members.Supervising and supporting staff within the unit.Participating in Quality Improvement Programs in line with organisational and departmental strategic plans.About You You will be a trained nurse with exceptional customer service, confident communication, and strong interpersonal skills. You will also demonstrate:
Relevant registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.Minimum 5 years' post-graduate experience in Recovery / Anaesthetics / PACU.Hold or working towards post-graduate qualification in anaesthetic and/or recovery.Ability to manage designated portfolio and display strong leadership skills.Well-developed communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.Ability to effectively plan and manage financial, human, and material resources.A passion for mentoring junior team members and positively influencing their performance.Highly Desirable: Certificate IV in workplace training and assessment.Completed Preceptorship program.What's in it for you?
