Surgical Services coordinates and manages support to the surgical departments and units of the WCH. The hospital is the main referral centre for complex paediatric surgical conditions, for South Australia, the Northern Territory and some regional centres in Eastern Victoria and Eastern New South Wales and supports a clinical and basic science research and teaching program.
The Recovery & Anaesthetic nursing team provide expert nursing care before, during and after surgery and anaesthetic for women and children at the WCH.

The Opportunity Exciting opportunities exist within Recovery & Anaesthetics to join us as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager. Role Responsibilities: Promote continuity and consistency of care in collaboration with other AN/MUM and the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager or equivalent;Assist the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager or equivalent in the implementation of practice changes; andAssist the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager or equivalent in undertaking ward/unit/service management responsibilities, eg. Performance management processes, recruitment, staffing, leave management, rostering, work allocation and attendance management; financial and supplies planning and monitoring.About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.Ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines, whilst working under minimal supervision.Ability to lead and motivate staff to achieve positive outcomes.An ability to manage to the spirit and principles of the premier's safety Commitment and the legislative requirements of the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (SA), utilising AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009 Risk Management- Principles and Guidelines, or to an equivalent set of standardsTo find out the specifics, including the key selection criteria and special conditions, please go to the attached role description.
