The Role: The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) is an experienced nurse who, within the defined area of practice:
Works in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and other senior staff, to ensure the efficient and effective provision of care based on best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework. Assists the NUM with the planning and management of staff and resources and provides operational leadership through the coordination of the day to day patient care activities, including patient flow. You will need: Demonstrated clinical experience in the relevant practice area, with the capacity to provide clinical leadership, exercise professional judgement and initiative and work with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to understand the business of the unit/service in delivering the best outcomes within available resources, including a demonstrated understanding of patient flow principles and discharge planning in the pursuit of patient/client goals within a contemporary healthcare framework. Demonstrated ability to contribute to the evaluation, innovation and development of services provided by the unit/service and the review of clinical practice policy, procedures and protocols. Demonstrated time management and organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise clinical and administrative tasks within a busy environment subject to work pressure and change. Proven commitment to teamwork, together with advanced interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication, and the ability to lead, manage conflict and work effectively with a multidisciplinary team in the planning and coordination of clinical care for patients. The Team: Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania's largest hospital, and the Rehabilitation Unit is the tertiary referral centre for all complex Rehabilitation patients in Tasmania. As the major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH works closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare and rehabilitation within a multidisciplinary team, to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
Details of appointment: Permanent, part time, shift-worker (fully rotational) position working 72 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Salary: $103,466 - $109,165 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Allowances: You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type Benefits available to eligible candidates: Professional development and accelerated pathways. Excellent leave benefits: 20 days annual leave (pro rata), 20 days personal leave (pro rata), and study assistance leave if eligible. Fitness Passport – You, and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family. Eligibility: Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
