The Role: This position is specifically for a Post Anaesthetic Care Unit nurse with a minimum of 5 years acute clinical experience.
The Associate Nurse Unit Manager is an experienced nurse who:
Works in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and other senior staff, to ensure the efficient and effective provision of care based on best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework. Assists the NUM with the planning and management of staff and resources and provides operational leadership through the coordination of the day to day patient care activities, including patient flow. The Team: The Post Anaesthetic Care Unit team provides safe, high quality, care to patients/clients following elective and emergency procedural and surgical anaesthesia.
The Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) is the largest public hospital in the state and operates at a level 6 capability and provides acute inpatient and outpatient surgical services for the Tasmania Health Service Hospitals South (THS Hospitals South) and is the tertiary referral for complex patients from THS Hospitals North and THS Hospitals Northwest.
The RHH provides elective and emergency surgical services for the THS Hospitals South.
The RHH is the tertiary referral centre for all surgical procedures with the exception of transplant surgery, complex paediatric surgery, paediatric cardiac surgery, major paediatric orthopaedic surgery and cochlear implant surgery.
Details of appointment: Multiple permanent, full time or part time, shift worker (fully rotational) positions, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $103,466 - $109,165 per annum (Pro rata).
Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023. Allowance: You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum. Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type. Benefits available to eligible candidates: Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees. Professional development and accelerated pathways. Excellent leave benefits: 20 days annual leave (pro rata), 20 days personal leave (pro rata), and study assistance leave if eligible. Fitness Passport – You, and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family. Eligibility: Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
