Associate Midwifery Unit Manager (AMUM) (523381)Australia, TasAbout the Tasmanian State ServiceThe Tasmanian State Service (TSS) is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the Tasmanian community at all levels.The Associate Midwifery Unit Manager (AMUM) is an experienced midwife who, within the defined area of practice:Works in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and other senior staff, to ensure the efficient and effective provision of care based on best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.Assists the NUM with the planning and management of staff and resources and provides operational leadership through the coordination of the day-to-day patient care activities, including patient flow.Maternity Services, Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH)Launch into a Midwifery leadership position that will deliver variety and growth while working in a fast-paced unit incorporating pregnancy assessment, birthing and postnatal ward within our Maternity Service. Relocation support will be negotiated if you are considering a move across the ocean to our island of Tasmania.The RHH is the tertiary referral centre for Tasmania, with around 2000 births each year.Work in a rewarding environment with a dynamic team of midwives.Looking for a dynamic Midwife who will assist in leading the unit working fully rotational shift work whilst growing and supporting early career Midwives and collaboratively working with the O&G team.Details of AppointmentPermanent, full-time, shift-worker (fully rotational) position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant, however the AMUM position requires a minimum of 48 hours per fortnight.Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or fixed-term full-time, part-time and casual vacancies.Salary$103,466 - $109,165 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.AllowancesProfessional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum.Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full-time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.Excellent leave benefits: 20 days annual leave (pro rata), 20 days personal leave (pro rata), and study assistance leave if eligible.Fitness Passport – You, and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family.Essential CriteriaRegistered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Midwife.Current Working with Children Registration.Desirable CriteriaHolds or is working towards relevant post graduate qualifications.The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer.
